When Middle School meets Fall Camp

Nearly 50 5th–8th graders had a blast at their 1st annual Fall Camp!

Last Saturday, our Blackhawk DS3 youth and leaders loaded into Blackhawk vans and headed to Camp Potawotami for their 2-day fall retreat. The weather may not have been the best, but you wouldn’t know it by the smiles on their faces. Whether rain or shine, the youth were complimented on their behavior, their attitudes, and the amount of food they devoured!!

“Our students had an amazing weekend at Camp! They had the opportunity to participate in 5 different activity sessions that included Archery, Rock Wall, Team Building, Canoeing, and a Nature Walk. During free time the students enjoyed 9-Square, Football, the Mole-Hole Slide, and so much more! Ask the students about their trip and find out what their favorite part was!”
–Josh Raber, Youth Assistant Director

The weekend kicked-off with Mike Lee leading worship. Then, our youth continued Saturday night and Sunday morning, learning about the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman. They learned more about themselves, about their friends, and then dove into God’s Word. Then they journaled how their love language can be used to better love God, love others and then continue to live it out in the upcoming weeks and months.

“There is nothing like a youth group camp with a great bunch of students and leaders! God is good!”
–Cheryl Pulver, Youth Director
